Ceramic Fritted Glass for Architectural Projects

Bring your ceramic fritted glass requirements to EVERMADE GLASS for a project supply review. Share the drawing revision, pattern or artwork, intended glass construction, panel quantities and destination. Identify the ceramic finish required so the proposed scope can be checked before quotation.

Specify the Ceramic Finish, Not Just the Printing Method

Ceramic fritted glass has a glass enamel decoration fused to the glass during firing. “Screen-printed” and “digitally printed” describe application methods; those terms alone do not confirm that the decoration is ceramic.

If the specification requires ceramic frit, say so explicitly. Include the finish description and any nominated material or process requirements. The proposed printing method and suitability for the specified glass construction need to be agreed for the order.

Make the Pattern Reproducible Across the Panel Schedule

A reference image can start the discussion, but it does not define a production pattern. Show where the pattern begins and ends, which areas remain clear and how it aligns across adjacent panels.

For repeated panels, identify any mirrored layouts, changes in orientation and different artwork revisions. Separate the visual design from holes, edgework and other fabrication details.

  • Artwork or pattern reference, scale, dimensions and revision.
  • Required coverage layout, clear borders and position on each panel.
  • Panel marks, viewing direction and alignment across neighbouring panels.

Review Colour in the Intended Glass Construction

Describe the required colour reference and the appearance to be assessed: reflected colour, transmitted appearance or both. State the base glass, thickness and complete build-up, including any specified interlayer, coating or cavity.

The colour reference is a target for review, not a guarantee that every substrate or build-up will look identical. If low-iron glass is specified, include it with the finish requirement rather than treating it as a substitute for sample approval.

Confirm the Print Surface and Required Product Evidence

Provide a section or marked drawing showing the intended printed surface, viewing side and any contact with other materials. Identify the specified heat treatment and required project documents.

A ceramic finish does not, on its own, establish a solar-control value, safety classification or bird-collision rating. If the project requires those results, list the required evidence for the actual proposed configuration. Compatibility with coatings, interlayers and seals also needs review; it is not assumed from the product names.

Set the Appearance Approval Before the Order

Where samples or a mock-up are specified, identify the representative construction and viewing conditions. Agree what the approval needs to cover, such as pattern alignment, clear areas and the selected colour reference.

Record the accepted artwork revision and visual criteria with the order. Sample scope, timing and any charges are agreed separately. For opaque non-vision façade areas, include the spandrel requirements as well.

Send a Ceramic Fritted Glass RFQ

Start with the pattern or artwork reference, panel schedule, required construction and project destination. Add the quantity, requested delivery date, documents and approval process. Mark any open items rather than guessing a specification.

Email the drawings and artwork to info@evermadeglass.com, or describe the requirement in the enquiry form. Attachments are sent by email; the website form does not upload files.

Project questions

Is screen-printed glass always ceramic fritted glass?

No. The method name does not identify the ink system. Specify ceramic frit where it is required and confirm the proposed material and processing route with the order.

Can ceramic fritted glass also be spandrel glass?

It can be specified for a spandrel application, but the terms describe different things. Ceramic frit concerns the finish; spandrel concerns the non-vision façade area and its opaque appearance requirements. Provide both sets of requirements where relevant.

Does pattern coverage determine the finished glass performance?

Coverage is only part of the specification. State the required performance and evidence for the complete glass construction; a pattern description alone is not a certified performance result.

What if the artwork is not final?

Send the current reference, panel dimensions and known construction, and identify what is still open. Final artwork, supply feasibility and approval requirements need to be resolved before production commitments are agreed.

Have a glass schedule or drawing?

Send the information you have. Include the glass type, approximate quantity and destination. We can clarify the remaining details with you.
